SSC Ultimate Aero -- This twin-turbo V8 engine packs a devilish 1,183 in horsepower and sells for US$654,400. The Shelby-made car was tested in March 2007 by Guinness World Records, when it took the lead as the fastest car on the planet, surpassing the Bugatti Veyron
