it says "Live Broadcast" when loaded in QT...
Why wouldn't it be live?

Yes. I'd be very interested in seeing how his version of Pro allows you to download streams, whereas mine doesn't.
get ready... this is a hard one. CTRL-Click the picture. there will be a download option if you have quicktime pro.

I used to love the live broadcasts, I just hope it's nothing like the regular streams have been over the past couple years. As soon as the video is released, it's slow, chops up and pauses constantly. A solid stream will be nice.

Hey-
Probably s stupid question, but with all the members here... and, what, 300 apple stores, no one has seen what is in the back rooms or anything of the apple stores?
They are shipped black wrapped, and the manager of the store has to authorize their being opened. So, generally, it's hard to get a leak that way.

If I'm threatened with a dried rose petal I probably wouldn't back down.
If I'm threatened with a car, or a gun, I'd probably back right down. Without hesitation.
If something is dangerous, it's not a good idea to challenge it.
What about an banana?

Ad feminam attacks aside, I think you may be underestimating the damage this kind of leak will do to Apple. Competitors now have confirmation of Apple's plans and can push for competing deals to be negotiated so that their stores can come out at the same time as Apple's. The leak is an attempt by Lion's Gate to bring more competition into an area that Apple is blazing the trail for. All Mac users should defend Apple and do whatever we can to help the mothership.
So does this mean your original post wasn't a joke?
As much as people keep insisting IT MUST BE renting/buying, I don't see a problem if it's initially either one, as long as pricing is right. There's a huge market for both, and covering either is a big potential revenue source for apple.
Personally, I wouldn't buy unless it was DVD quality and included all DVD extras (not going to happen any time soon), or was dirt cheap to own. And rental would be fine, I'd probably even accept lower quality for some content as long as it was cheaper than netflix (but also probably not going to happen).

Welcome to Macrumors, it is like this all the time. Some weeks are worse then others. You just get used to it!
I know it's like this but I really do believe there is no iPhone, still it is fun to spur on the stupid and ignorant, that's what I come here for ;)
I think it's more of the fact people want it so badly that they are willing believe anything to support their beliefs.
Even bigfoot, the loch ness monster and UFOs left photos, the iPhone has shown off absolutely nothing for nearly 12 months worth of rumors, therefore no iPhone.
I can see it now..... iPhoney, Tricked Different

It's leftover from Prohibition. Heck, the state didn't even officially legalize alcohol again until the 50s.
Oddly enough, malt liquor seems to be exempt from that law. All the finer malt liquors, including Olde English, Colt 45, and Mickey's are widely available. I think they have their own category for some reason. I also think they don't enforce the law that closely.
Funny that I wonder if those are/were the drink of choice of the people who made the laws...hmm!

Apple should drop all Yonah products as soon as sufficient Merom chips are available to do it.
Imagine The Steve saying "Mac - all Intel, all 64-bit" in Paris.
It would be to Apple's (and third parties') advantage to get rid of all 32-bit MacIntel's as soon as possible, so that "even fatter binaries" won't be needed to support the small number of 32-bit MacIntel's sold.
It will cost Apple and others a lot of money to support both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
While this is true, developers and apple are going to have to have "even fatter binaries" to support the 32-bit machines ALREADY sold. I realize that the sooner they move to all 64-bit the sooner all software can be written for it, but lets be honest...apple is still supporting PPC...they are not ditching 32-bit processors anytime soon (as far as support goes)

I agree. Steve Jobs is definitely taking this too far. A lot of people that were indifferent about him, now don't like the guy (based on what I've been reading in news articles and on forums).

American Technology Research Analyst, Shaw Wu, echoes sentiments (http://www.macobserver.com/stockwatch/2006/07/10.1.shtml) that the new iPod nano will come in a new metal enclosure. Shaw Wu, however, specifically states that the new iPod nano cases will be made of magnesium rather than the aluminum (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/07/20060710111848.shtml). According to Wu, the new magnesium nanos are expected by October of this year.
While there had been rumors (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2003/08/20030825093728.shtml) of Apple using magnesium alloys for their laptops in the past, the last notable computer enclosure built with magnesium was the NeXT Cube (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NeXTcube). In 1993, NeXTWORLD's Simson Garfinkel documented his (extensive) efforts (http://web.thock.com/cubefire.htm) at setting a NeXT Cube on fire. (image (http://guides.macrumors.com/Image:Cubefire.gif))
Meanwhile, Wu also reiterates that the Intel PowerMac revision is expected at WWDC (http://guides.macrumors.com/WWDC) on August 7th. He also holds out hope for more to come:
Apple has already announced that it will preview Mac OS X 10.5. Mr. Wu says "With respect to Steve Jobs' track record and element of surprise, we are prepared to see something that no one anticipated."

But I finally figured out how Apple gets you to keep updating... they always promise a battery fix along with the other crap you really don't care about. By now I should be running for 30 days on a single charge.

I'd get the New Yorker in a minute if it was even remotely priced the way it would be for a print subscription. I'd pay even more--due to the convenience factor, but not $5 an issue.
The demand is not there because their prices are unrealistic.
Especially having to pay twice if you are already a print subscriber. Why?

Not that my opinion matters but I just do not find it appealing (spically with the sensor at the top...
I am curious how many they are going to sell with a refresh anwhere from 3 to 6 months away...
They're going to sell a crap load. Thinking otherwise is simply foolish.
