When  I think of Canada I think of Tim Hortons and Canadian Tire. Well Canadian Tire has been a supporter and sponsor of many racers and race series in Canada (my fave is their NASCAR Canadian Tire Series) and they intend to get more involved in motorsports.
On June 17 Canadian Tire will show Villeneuve's 1985 winning Indy car and NASCAR NCTS car #22 and it's driver - Scott Steckly (the 2008 NCTS champion) at the Leslie and Lakeshore Canadian Tire Store at 10am. We caught up with Scott at the recent Mosport race on June 13, see photo at top.

Canadian Tire announced that their 2010 racing program includes:

- Title sponsor of the NASCAR Canadian Tires Series and Official Automotive Retailer of NASCAR in    Canada. NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race as a companion to the Nationwide race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
- Sponsor of race car driver, Ron Fellows, in the NASCAR Nationwide race in Montreal.
- Sponsor of race car drivers Scott Steckly in the Canadian Tire car #22 and Mark Dilley in the PartSource car #9.
- Official sponsor of both the Honda Indy Toronto and Honda Indy Edmonton. In preparation for the Honda Indy Toronto the fencing and barriers are being installed along the length of the race course. Here is turn one as it heads towards the Princes' Gate.
