The Gorgeous Girls of Roller Derby (GGRD), part of the Toronto Roller Derby (TORD) league, engaged in a mighty battle between Death Track Dolls and Chicks Ahoy down at The Hanger in Downsview Park. The doors opened at 6:30 and the game started at 7:30pm. First the girls get warmed up, one team at a time. After the warm up we get the Canadian National Anthem (by singer Ginger St. James) and introductions to the derby girls - then the match begins.

The Death Track Dolls dressed in red and white and made themselves up like zombies. The zombies weren't looking to eat brains, the undead wanted to jam.
Chicks Ahoy were in green and black. I like hot zombies so I rooted for the Dolls including Land Shark #33 but you had to give it up for the Chicks' Mach Wheels #V12. The pair mix it up in the photo below. Chicks Ahoy win today's game with a score of 121 to 109.
More after the jump.

Chairs for the Zebra Mafia were in short supply so they made do with what they had..
Nicki Nine Lives keeps an eye on the action.
Ginger St. James belts out the anthem.
The Zebra Mafia (referees) during the anthems.
Player introductions begin.
And the games begin.

I watched the game from along the edge of the no go line - they call these seats the suicide seats and I almost got run over during this game.
