It was crowded in Yonge-Dundas Square as Ontario Tourism was out promoting our beautiful province. There were a few soldiers, some mascots and some entertainment on stage. Representatives from many regions, cities, resorts and attractions were there to give out lots of information, freebies and draws.
I think I even saw Santa Claus out pressing the flesh, it's amazing what you can do in the off season.
The soldiers were from various historic sites like Fort Henry.
Salsa on St. Clair gave some Salsa and Merengue lessons over lunchtime and got people on their feet shaking their hips. I think there was a little forbidden dancing going on in the square or maybe it was just the chicken dance.
With festival season heating up don't forget that Toronto's Caribana Festival will soon be brightening up the streets with colourful costumes and floats. You can keep an eye on Marilyn's Toronto Blog as she keeps us updated on all the things you can do around Toronto on the weekend. Here are some more characters from the day's celebration.
